How Football Changed my Life and My Mission to Create Opportunities for Young Athletes in Zimbabwe!

My name is Tapiwa Manhungo, and I grew up in Zimbabwe knowing what it’s like to have dreams but few opportunities. Football was my way out. It opened doors I never imagined doors to education, travel, and personal growth. But I also know that my story could have been very different.

I had friends talented, gifted players who were even better than me. But they never got the chance to progress. With no resources and no support, some turned to drugs as a way to cope with the disappointment and lack of opportunity. They didn’t fail because they lacked talent they failed because they lacked a bridge to a better future.

City SC Harare Inc is that bridge.

We are a cost-free program for boys from low income homes removing money as a barrier so every child, no matter their background, can have the same opportunities to grow, learn, and dream big. Football is just the beginning. We also provide a safe, structured environment that keeps kids away from dangerous paths, gives them mentors to look up to, and teaches life lessons that go far beyond the game.

Our goal isn’t just to create better players, we want to build better human beings. Future leaders. Responsible citizens. Loving parents. Role models who will give back to their communities.

But to keep this mission alive, we need your help.
