My son Christopher is taking a huge brave step into the next chapter of his life. His soul desire has been to seek after God and be in His service in whatever career path God leads him to. This has led him to take a enormous step of faith: He has applied to and been accepted to Great Commission Bible Institute in Lake Placid, Florida to be a part of the ministry program for 10 months. He will have the support of an assigned on campus advisor as well as a local host family to provide weekly dinners and prayer with in their home, classes 3 days a week and activities on and off campus. He will even have the opportunity to go on a mission trip at some point in the year too.

Chris has moved out of the apartment he shared with Anthony (Who now has an apartment of his own), staying with us and will be giving his notice at work on Wednesday. He has an appointment to have his car tuned up and ready for the road. He is making the necessary phone calls and emails to handle details trying to make sure he covers as many details as possible before he goes. Chris will be leaving 8/12/25 and will be driving alone 4 days/3 night over multiple states for the first time; another extraordinary step for Chris. He was originally driving out with a friend who cancelled on him last minute, but he has not let that detour him-he went online to an AI program that helps calculate his trip, how far to drive each day and suggest hotels according to his criteria. This is HUGE for him

The tuition with room and board included is $10,000. Then there are expenses for keeping gas in his car, keeping car and health insurance paid and any incidentals he needs. Chris is stepping out in faith with 3k in the bank and two more incoming paychecks from work. He has been accepted into an internship at a local church that pays for some of his tuition (he is still working on the details and will attend services there on Sunday's), and is applying for a part time job at a prayer call center near campus. The campus is open on the major holidays so he can stay there and buy groceries to make in his dorm room if the finances and logistics don't work for coming home. So, while he is in Florida, he will be very busy with classes, internship and work. This is an exciting change for Chris and he is completely surrendering his nervousness the God. He is teaching me by example because my mom heart is a wreck and I am so proud of him!
