My name is Shawn V. Anthony. My brother, Christopher F. Randall and I are writing to tell you a story about our incredible mother, who of course is amazing. Up until March 19, 2025, mom had not one, but two jobs, working as a teacher's aide at a Montessori School (which she loved) and writing an article (Paw Prints) for the Red Rocks News. On March 19, 2025, mom suffered a stroke. I knew something was terribly wrong when several calls to mom went unanswered. I called my brother and sister-in-law Christopher, and Debbie who were just 5 minutes from mom's house. Due to their quick response, Debbie called 911 and within moments the paramedics were onsite, then headed to Verde Valley Medical Center where mom was life-flighted to St. Joseph's Dignity Hospital, Barrow Neurological Center in Phoenix where she underwent emergency surgery to remove a blood clot from the frontal lobe of her brain. Mom was in ICU for 3 days then moved out of ICU for a day. Mom is now at a Rehabilitation Facility where she is getting the much-needed Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy. Mom will be at the Rehabilitation Facility for a few weeks, then home health care and in-home physical therapy. With all of this much-needed care, insurance only covers so much. My brother, Christopher, and I have set up this GoFundMe page to help our mom in any way possible. Mom has always been there for her family, and friends.
