Hello friends and family!
My sweet sister and brother-in-law are looking to adopt a child! Some of you may already be familiar with their story and journey with infertility.
Christin and Ethan started dating when they were just 16 years old and got married in 2018. Over the course of their marriage, their journey to parenthood took a challenging turn due to infertility. These past 6 years, they have sought out multiple fertility clinics and specialists to do everything they could to have a baby of their own.
In 2020, Ethan and Christin traveled to California for Ethan to undergo a TESE procedure due to a genetic condition that impacts sperm production. Unfortunately, this procedure was not covered by insurance, and they were forced to take out medical loans to cover the costs. This surgery ended up being unsuccessful, as no viable sperm was found. After getting this difficult news, they decided to pursue IUI via sperm donation; however, they ended up having 6 unsuccessful rounds of IUI. During this time, Christin also received the diagnosis of Graves' Disease, an autoimmune disorder, which can have negative impacts on fertility. All of this news has come with a lot of heartbreak, challenging realizations, and financial strain due to the extensive costs of medications, fertility treatments, and medical visits.
Although these years have been incredibly heavy for them, I have gotten to see their trust in God grow deeper and deeper. They began to watch church messages together weekly, read their Bible, pray boldly, attend an infertility small group at church, and this summer I got to witness them get baptized together at Lake Johanna. How incredible is our God!! That we can trust in Him, no matter our circumstances. They also never lost faith that God would provide them with a baby to love and cherish. They knew that God placed it on their hearts to one day be parents.
Now, after much thought and prayer, Christin and Ethan have decided to pursue adoption through a Christian adoption agency. They believe God is calling them in this direction and that He is preparing them for this next season.
Currently, Christin and Ethan are starting the adoption process, which is very complex and involves significant costs. A domestic infant adoption in the U.S. currently ranges from $20,000-$50,000. This covers birth-parent care, medical expenses, legal fees, agency fees, a home study, travel costs, etc. If you are willing and able to help financially, we greatly appreciate each and every donation. We also ask for your continuous prayers and support for Christin and Ethan during this process. Please pray that they trust in God’s perfect timing and that they will soon welcome a new precious member into our family!
Much love and God bless,
