Hi, my name is Christian, and I’m a Life Scout in Troop 6 Urbana Illinois. I’m working on my Eagle Scout project, which is an important requirement for Eagle rank.

For my project, I’m building an 8x8-foot platform at the Anita Purves Nature Center in Urbana Illinois. This platform will be part of the nature playscape, providing a play structure that encourages open ended creativity and exploration. The platform is something that supports outdoor learning, outdoor play, and community engagement. Nature playscapes help children explore and connect with the outdoors. Adding this platform will give the community:

-A spot for group activities like story time or classes

-A durable feature that will last for years.

-An additional play structure that sparks creativity and unstructured play, which is proven to aid in brain development.

To make this happen, I need your help. Your donations will go directly toward lumber, hardware, and sealant to ensure the platform is quality, safe, and weather-resistant. Any contribution, big or small, brings me closer to completing this project for the community. Any additional donations will be given to the Urbana Parks Foundation, which will help to maintain our lovely parks here in Urbana.
