Support Chris's Recovery After Heart Surgery

Hi, my name is Hannah, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my amazing father, Chris, who recently underwent triple bypass open heart surgery.

On May 20th, Chris went to the ER with chest pain and discomfort. After a few days of testing and a critical care ambulance transfer to UNC REX Heart & Vascular Hospital in Raleigh, we got the news no one wants to hear: he had three blocked arteries and needed emergency open heart surgery. On May 27th, he underwent triple bypass surgery to save his life.

Chris is a hardworking father and grandfather, and the rock of our family. He’s the kind of man who would give even a stranger the shirt off his back. Whether it’s family, friends, or neighbors, he is always the first to step up when someone is in need. Now, he’s the one who needs help.

He’s already spent two weeks in the hospital and now faces at least 8 more weeks of recovery at home. During this time, he’ll be unable to work, and the loss of income is placing a heavy financial burden on both him and my mom.

On top of everything, my mom has also had to take time off work to care for him, which means they’re both without income right now. While he does have insurance, it only covers a portion of the medical costs, and it doesn’t help with everyday expenses, medications, travel costs, or the income they've lost.

We hope to raise $3,000 to help cover monthly bills, living expenses, and the financial hit they’re taking while Chris focuses on healing and my mom supports his recovery. No matter the size, every donation will make a meaningful difference for two people who have always shown up for others.
