Support Chris's Long Road to Recovery

12/2 update: he was awake more, they turned his sedation down quite a bit. They even decreased his pain meds some. He was opening his eyes and trying to focus the best he could on us when we were talking to him. He was able to nod yes when i asked if he was okay. He shed a tear when Christian was talking to him. They’re hoping tomorrow to have his breathing tube out. I had to let Chris know that they were going to take it out soon then he could try and talk since he kept trying to move his mouth today and talk back. He squeezed my hand again when i was talking to him. However still no movement or anything on the left side. I’ll be back up there tomorrow.

12/1 Update: our dad is currently in stable condition. His bleed isn’t getting better or worse. He’s on a low setting for the breathing machine they have in. The doctors/ nurses are hoping to get the breathing tube out in the next couple days but his pneumonia has to clear up first. They are suspecting he will have to be in a rehab facility for a year if not more but he’ll never be able to live on his own. Therefore, I’m planning on taking him in with my and my kiddos.

Hi there, my name is Haley. I’m starting this gofundme to raise money for expenses including bills, medical things, and hotels.

on Wednesday November 27th, i went to check on my dad, Chris. When i walked into his house i found him unconscious face down on the floor. I immediately called the emergency personnel and they came very quickly. Once he was rushed to Swedish American, i wasn’t able to see him for over an hour due to his condition. Once i was able to see him the doctors told me he had severe brain bleeding and they needed to get him to UW Madison asap. They’re unsure on how it happened or why. He is now at UW Madison and had a portion of the right side of his skull removed to relieve pressure. They also were able to drain the blood in his brain. However, the bleeding is stable, meaning he’s still bleeding but it isn’t getting worse or better. He’s currently in a medical induced coma and on a ventilator. They have informed me he will be up there a very long time and it will be a very long road to recovery for me. He has already survived 10 mini strokes 2 years ago and now this is happening. Me being his next of kin is in charge of his things. He has a house, bills, and a dog. There is no way I’ll be able to keep his house afloat along with my house and family. That is why I’m asking for help. I absolutely hate asking for help but i really have no idea what to do.

thank you.
