Support Chris Jacobs' Recovery Journey

Update: The funding from Alliance For Aging was approved and the remaining months owed to Sun Bay Manor will be paid through them! Thank you so much to everyone who helped us pay for his first month there!
He is currently at the Rehabilitation facility as he awaits his hip surgery because he will have higher care needs than Sun Bay Manor can meet during recovery. He has improved immensely since his initial hospitalization, but it has been a frustrating road to finding a specialist with availability to do the surgery. So I am thankful that the facility was able to get him an Orthopedic appointment for early August! Once he is able to get his hip fixed, he will improve by leaps and bounds!
Anyone who knows my dad knows how active he is and know how hard it's been for him to not be able to move. Thank you again for all of the well wishes, messages of encouragement, and donations towards my dad's care! I am hopeful he will be back to himself before we know it!
Original Post: In early December my dad, Chris Jacobs, suffered a hard fall and was hospitalized for an extensive period. As a result of this hospitalization, he lost a lot of function that he is slowly gaining back. He currently can't walk or get in and out of chairs or bed on his own and needs 24 hour care. Thankfully the care home where his mother, Ruth Jacobs, currently lives, was able to take him in. Sun Bay Manor is a care home with only 6-8 residents and 24 hour care. Ruth is more at ease and happier, and my dad is talking more and eating on his own now that they are together again. I am hopeful with more time, he will gain more function back and his life will improve.
Whether you know him from his years on the football field, his time as an international model, his time as a contractor, or his many years working in Assisted Living, if you know Chris, you know he is a team player who wants nothing more than to help others. As such, asking for help is not something he likes to do. But at this point, it is a necessity. We need help from his friends, family, and community.
Unfortunately, the cost is more than my dad's social security and more than I have after my own bills. I have tried many avenues to secure funds without success. While in Florida in February, I was able to secure funding going forward starting in May. However, we need help with paying for his care until then. The cost is $4,500 per month and I need to secure funding for February, March, and April for his care at Sun Bay Manor. I am hoping that some of his friends, family, and acquaintances who have shared stories and laughs back and forth, or those he has helped throughout the years would be willing to help by considering a donation to Sun Bay Manor directly or to our gofundme.
You can donate to my dad's care directly by calling Sun Bay Manor and saying you would like to make a donation towards Christopher Jacobs’ bill or by supporting this gofundme. If you can't donate please consider sharing with any friends and acquaintances that may know my dad and his caring nature. Thank you for your consideration!
