Help a Devoted Father Save His Family Farm

My name is Christopher Slough, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my dear friend, Chris Kelley, who is facing one of the hardest seasons of his life. He needs our help.

Chris is currently navigating an incredibly painful divorce under circumstances that I can only describe as heartbreaking. He has been left to care alone for his two young sons (ages 4 and 1½), his elderly mother (who lives with him and requires full-time care), and the family horse farm. Home to 20+ horses, 2 dogs, and what feels like a bazillion cats. This farm is not only their livelihood, it’s a labor of love built through years of hard work and sacrifice.

Despite everything crashing down around him, Chris is holding it together the best he can, with no real support system and no financial cushion to fall back on. My family has helped however we can, watching the kids, providing emotional support,  but what he truly needs right now is financial relief.

Here’s what Chris is juggling:

Full-time care for two toddlers

Full-time care for an elderly parent

Feeding and maintaining 20+ horses

Ongoing farm expenses (feed, hay, shavings, vet care, farrier services, repairs, utilities, etc.)

Divorce proceedings and legal fees (court costs, lawyers,  etc.)

Rising costs of food, gas, insurance, and daily living

Chris is one of the most hardworking, generous, and selfless people I’ve ever known. He would literally give you the shirt off his back without a second thought. Now, he needs our shirts. He needs our help.

I believe God has a beautiful plan for Chris and his boys, and I’m praying that part of that plan includes the generosity and kindness of people like you. Whether it’s $5, $50, or $500, every donation helps lighten the heavy load Chris is carrying alone.
