Support Chilo coming home from prison

Our dear friend Chilo has finally been granted parole after spending 18 years in prison in upstate New York. He will be getting out in late July and is in need of financial support as he secures housing and work. As is the case with so many who are incarcerated, over the course of the last 18 years Chilo has been stripped of most of his assets. He has also, predictably, been paid close to nothing for the years of work he has done for the grounds and maintenance crew and other jobs while inside. There are countless and deliberate obstacles that the prison system presents to people who go through it. The least we can do to make Chilo's transition as easy as possible is to ensure that he has secure access to housing, food and other necessities in the months following his release. 

We've become close to Chilo over the past few years through the Parole Preparation Project. He is a hilarious, kindhearted and devoted friend and we along with his loved ones are so excited for him to come home.
