Hi, my name is Belén, and I am from Chile.
Several cities in southern Chile are currently being devastated by wildfires. Due to extreme heat and strong winds, these fires have destroyed thousands of acres of land, taken lives, and left thousands of families without homes.
Being so far away and unable to help physically has been heartbreaking. Chile is a country that has faced many natural disasters, but it is also a country known for its strength and solidarity. Time and time again, the people of Chile have suffered loss—and time and time again, they have risen again through unity and the support of others, both near and far.
Our firefighters are working tirelessly, day and night, risking their lives to control these fires. Many of them do this out of pure devotion to their communities and passion for their calling, often without receiving any pay. Alongside them, entire communities are coming together to help one another through unimaginable devastation.
I am starting this GoFundMe to support families affected by the fires and to help the firefighters who continue battling them every day. While there are official foundations doing incredible work in Chile, many rely on Chilean bank accounts, making it difficult for people abroad to donate directly. This fundraiser helps bridge that gap.
100% of all donations will go directly to those in need. I have identified trusted organizations focused on rebuilding homes, helping animals affected by the fires, and supporting firefighters on the front lines.
Any donation makes a difference. Even $5 can help provide relief, support, and hope to those who need it most.

Hola, mi nombre es Belén y soy de Chile.
Actualmente, varias ciudades del sur de Chile están siendo gravemente afectadas por incendios forestales. Debido a las altas temperaturas y los fuertes vientos, estos incendios han arrasado con miles de hectáreas, han cobrado vidas y han dejado a miles de familias sin hogar.
Ver esta tragedia desde lejos, sin poder ayudar de manera física, ha sido profundamente doloroso. Chile es un país que ha enfrentado muchos desastres naturales, pero también es un país reconocido por su fortaleza y, sobre todo, por la solidaridad de su gente. Una y otra vez, el pueblo chileno ha sufrido pérdidas, y una y otra vez se ha levantado gracias a la unión entre ellos y al apoyo de quienes ayudan desde lejos.
Nuestros bomberos están trabajando incansablemente, día y noche, arriesgando sus vidas para controlar estos incendios. Muchos de ellos lo hacen por vocación, amor a sus comunidades y pasión por su labor, sin recibir remuneración alguna. Al mismo tiempo, comunidades completas se están organizando para apoyarse mutuamente frente a una devastación inimaginable.
He creado esta campaña de GoFundMe para apoyar a las familias afectadas por los incendios y a los bomberos que continúan luchando cada día en el frente. Existen fundaciones y organizaciones oficiales en Chile que están realizando un trabajo increíble, pero muchas de ellas utilizan cuentas bancarias chilenas, lo que dificulta las donaciones desde el extranjero. Esta campaña busca ser un puente para que esa ayuda llegue.
El 100% de las donaciones será destinado directamente a quienes lo necesitan. Tengo en mente organizaciones confiables enfocadas en la reconstrucción de viviendas, la ayuda a animales afectados y el apoyo a los bomberos que están combatiendo los incendios.
