Imagine growing up in a home where your dad is nowhere to be found and your mom beats you whenever she feels like it. You survive day by day until, at 14, CPS finally steps in and places you in a foster care shelter. You’re safe now. But are you thriving?

Not really. A healthy community feels foreign, nothing sparks joy, and the scars of abuse follow you into adulthood.

For millions of children in the US, this is reality. So we decided to take action.

We’re Drawing the Line, a group of high school students raising funds to bring games, tutoring, recreational activities, and community-building resources to kids in foster care shelters and child trafficking intervention programs. We want to give them the chance to learn, play, make friends, and feel like they belong.

Because healing isn’t just about leaving an abusive home. It’s about having the support and community to build something new, and drawing the line between the hardships we’ve faced and the futures we deserve.
