My name is Courtney Goodson and along with my sister Stephanie Pineda, we are asking for help for our mother. Around a month ago, our mother, Cheryl Strickland, started having severe headaches. She finally saw a doctor, and they ordered bloodwork. She started having neck stiffness along with back pain. It started to progressively get worse, adding blurry vision and continuing to get worse, which prompted an ER visit where she received multiple shots in the head and in her back. The pain subsided very shortly but ultimately returned, causing another ER visit with more tests and an appointment to see an ophthalmologist in Billings, Montana. The vision in her right eye went from blurry to seeing shadows to seeing absolutely nothing. Shortly after, her vision started becoming affected in her left eye, and at this point, she was sent to Billings Clinic Hospital in Montana, where she spent 10 days in the hospital. While there, numerous tests and biopsies were done, some of which are still in limbo as they were sent to the Mayo Clinic.

Before having these medical issues, she worked as a registration clerk for Powell Valley Hospital, which required her to be on a computer. With this new medical issue, she is not able to sit at the computer. For the next six weeks, she is on steroids and antibiotics and still has no idea what is causing this. She is also now taking insulin to control her sugar. She recently moved into a new apartment, and now that she’s not able to work, she was relying on her PTO, but that has run out, and now she is on FMLA.
