Hello All,
My name is Cherlie, and I'm reaching out with a heavy heart and a determined spirit.
On August 25, 2024, my younger brother, Sean Lange, and his girlfriend (the mother of
his son) were tragically murdered. This senseless act of violence not only stole the life
of my beloved brother but also left his 7-month-old son orphaned.
I thank God that justice is in motion—the person alleged to have been responsible has
been identified and is awaiting trial.
But now, a new chapter begins: My fight for my nephew.
Right after the tragic murder, a friend of my nephew’s mother stepped in and took my
nephew in along with the girlfriend’s other children. While I appreciate her immediate
action during such a chaotic time, I am in a fight to have my nephew raised by his family
— with people who can share his father's legacy, teach him about his Caribbean roots,
and surround him with the love and history that only family can provide.
My brother Sean was a man full of love and passion. He adored his children, practiced
martial arts, was a talented chef, and took pride in his Caribbean heritage. He loved
deeply, and he deserved more time. His son has a right to know him—through us, his
family.
This battle to raise my nephew has taken a toll. It is also proving to be very expensive.
While I am sacrificing and doing all in my power to continue this fight, I can’t do it alone.
That’s why I’m humbly asking for your help. Whether it’s $5 or $500, your contribution
will go directly toward legal fees, documentation, and the costs required to bring my
nephew home—where he belongs.
