Update:
After weeks of holding on, fighting, and hoping, our sweet Charlotte Anne passed away peacefully August 9, 2025 in the arms of her mom and dad, Hailey and Austin. Though her time with us was heartbreakingly short, she was surrounded every moment by love — from her family, her care team, and so many of you who prayed and hoped along with us.

Lottie’s life was only a few weeks long, but her impact on our hearts will last forever. There are no easy answers in moments like this, only the deep ache of love and loss. We are grateful for every second we had with her, and we will carry her memory with us always.

Thank you to everyone that has donated, reached out, and prayed for the family. Their hearts are hurting but they will see their sweet Lottie again someday!

Continue to pray for their healing. With the love and support for each other and everyone here we know they can do it!

Charlotte Anne Kuss

Born on 7/12/2025 at 4:52AM weighing 9lbs 8oz and 22 inches long. After a 34 hour long labor, a c-section was the only option for the safety of both Charlotte and Hailey. Charlotte had swallowed meconium that was in her amniotic fluid, which caused some distress and for her heart rate to spike. Since delivery she has been in the PICU on a machine called ECMO. It does the work of her heart and lungs because she is very sick from the meconium as well as being diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. She has an AMAZING team of doctors and nurses that are doing the best they can for our sweet Charlotte.

For Hailey it has been a long week as well, she was admitted as a patient since birth for a condition called post-operative ileus. Clear liquid diet for days while they wait for her digestive system to kick back into gear. She has had an NG tube a few days and that seems to be helping. Hoping she will get to be released soon.

This has been the longest, most stressful week of their lives, with no real end in sight of when they will get to bring Charlotte home, or even get to hold her. They are so very grateful for the family and friends that are supporting them and for all the many prayers they have received. We continue to ask for prayer over our beautiful Charlotte, the doctors and nurses taking care of her, our family, and Austin and Hailey. God is our one true healer and we put all our faith in him.

We are asking for your help in supporting them through this time so that they don’t have to worry about anything. The time off work, the driving to and from the hospital, staying at the hospital, the medical bills for both Hailey and Charlotte, and any other expenses they could encounter could be stressful and we don’t want anymore stress for this lovely wonderful new family.

Thank you for all the love and support
The Kuss and Stanton Families.
