What began as a father’s simple wish to bond with his son has grown into a mission that is touching hearts and changing lives.

Hi, I’m Paul Carafotes—actor, author, and proud dad. Years ago, I created a character named Charlie Bubbles to inspire my young son, Charlie, with bedtime stories full of imagination, adventure, and the values I hold dearest: Be Helpful, Be Loving, Be Kind.

That small spark became something much bigger.

Together, Charlie and I launched Charlie Bubbles Cares for Kids, a nonprofit organization devoted to sharing our books with children everywhere—especially those in schools and hospitals who may not otherwise have access to uplifting, value-based stories. We’ve visited countless communities, given away thousands of books, sung songs, and made kids smile. Every donation allows us to put these books directly into the hands of the children who need them most.

And now, we’re taking the mission even further—with a powerful new book called Brave Heart, based on the true story of a baby girl named Isabella.

Isabella was born without half a heart and courageously fought for 97 days. Her story came to us through a fan of Knots Landing—a friend of Isabella’s family—who reached out and asked if I could write a book about her journey. At first, it felt like an incredibly tall ask. But then I thought about Charlie, and how the stories we’ve created together continue to touch so many.

I realized that Brave Heart isn’t just Isabella’s story—it’s all of ours. It’s about courage. It’s about resilience. And above all, it’s about choosing to say “yes” to love and kindness. Just like I’ve always told Charlie:

Say “YES” and anything is possible. Say “NO” and nothing happens.

So I said YES to Isabella.
