Help Support Charles Jr. in His Recovery

Hi everyone,

My little brother Charles is only 9 years old and just went through something no child should have to face. After being sick for several days we found him unresponsive on the couch Sunday morning. His appendix burst and caused a serious infection. He had to be rushed to the hospital by ambulance, and doctors performed surgery to drain the infection and save him, if we hadn’t called he wouldn’t be here right now. When his appendix ruptured, bacteria spilled into his abdominal cavity, and he was very close to sepsis which is life-threatening without treatment.

Thankfully, he got the help he needed. He is out of surgery and recovering, but it has been a very scary and difficult time for our family. He needs a second surgery to clean and remove access peritonitis. He’s still weak and very disoriented, and he had to miss his very first week of 4th grade which he’s very upset about.

Our dad is a single father doing his best to hold everything together. While my brother is in the hospital, my siblings and I have been split up for now so our dad can focus on caring for him.

Most of his medical expenses are covered by the state, but we are asking for a little help with the smaller costs that remain — about $200 — including paramedics fees, small hospital bills, special food for his recovery, and some comfort items to make his healing a little easier.

Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean so much to us and help my brother get back on his feet. Even if you can’t donate, sharing this would mean the world.
