Centro Conviven is a non-profit community center dedicated to the educational and social development of children, adolescents, and families in some of Buenos Aires' most underserved populations. The center offers free services aimed at removing barriers to self-sufficiency.
Conviven offers a robust, multifaceted program for adolescents between the ages of 14 and 18. Focuses include preparation in science and technology, acquisition of basic written/verbal communication skills, and supervised recreational activities such as sports, visual arts, and music.
Continuing education is also offered for adults, including opportunities to pursue certificates backed by the department of Education for Adolescents and Adults, a governmental agency created by the city of Buenos Aires in 2003. Evening classes are available for working community members who are unable to attend during the day.
In the post-COVID landscape of extreme economic instability that has devastated already vulnerable communities throughout the city, Conviven has struggled to maintain adequate funds for its various locations, despite a continued commitment to its mission. Recent cutbacks have only exacerbated this struggle.
Please help Conviven keep its doors open by donating whatever you can. All funds will go directly to supporting staff and purchasing needed materials.
