Support Catherine Salazar's Road to Recovery After Accident

Hello all my name is Patrick Wolfram. I am setting up this page for my sister, Catherine Salazar. She is the youngest of 5 children in my family. She has unfortunately been in a horrible accident and needs all the help and support she can get to get through situation.

Catherine and her husband Anthony are huge NFL football fans: Him a Dallas Cowboys fan, while she is a Cincinnati Bengals fan. To celebrate their honeymoon, they saw the perfect opportunity in attending the Monday Night Football match up of the two teams on December 9th. Upon leaving the stadium later that night, Catherine tripped off of a curb, slipped in some mud, and hit her left leg on the curb on the way down. "No big deal" was her original thought. She had attempted to stand right away. Upon putting weight on her leg, she quickly realized something wasn't right as she heard crunching sounds and began feeling immense pain. She fell back down again and requested 911 services. After being rushed to the hospital and undergoing several tests, it was discovered that her injuries were severe. She had broken her femur, dislocated her knee, and had a bone chip come off her tibia that cut an artery in her leg. Emergency surgery ensued to target the bleeding and keep Catherine from losing a limb. Unfortunately, that was just the first of three surgeries that Catherine would undergo during her initial hospital stay. There are more appointments and surgeries that Catherine will have to face in the future.

Catherine has a very long road to recovery ahead of her. As part of her recovery journey, Catherine is required to stay in Arlington, TX for those follow-ups and additional surgeries with the same Doctor that treated her during her emergency visit for several more weeks. She was not released to be able to come back home to New Mexico due to a concern for her continued care. Right now, the best scenario is that Catherine may be able to return to NM the second week in January if no complications arise.

Both Catherine and Anthony are from New Mexico and are newly weds as of May 2024. They are embarking on their new journey and had plans for their future together. As you can imagine, this situation has completely turned their life upside down. Beyond the surgeries and hospital stays, Catherine will need assistance long after she has returned home.

No amount of help is too small as Catherine and her husband prepare for what is to come. My family and I are asking for any financial help for them as they try to handle all of the expenses and the adjustments to their life. My family thanks each of you for any help that is offered.
