Supporting Cason & Martha During a Long Medical Journey

On October 19, 2024, Cason was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver, caused by Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (AATD). Over the past year, his health steadily declined as he waited patiently for a life-saving liver transplant. During that time, he was hospitalized on and off for months—often staying for weeks at a time—undergoing repeated procedures to remove excess fluid from his body.

On December 31, 2025, Cason underwent a TIPS procedure, followed by his long-awaited liver transplant on January 1, 2026. Since then, he has faced an incredibly difficult road. As of now, he has been hospitalized for nearly 30 days and has experienced serious complications, including a perforated colon, sepsis, and multiple infections. He continues to battle pneumonia and remains on several antibiotics to fight infection and protect his new liver. The medications have also caused significant body tremors.

While the journey has been overwhelming, the medical team is cautiously hopeful. We are prayerfully anticipating that he may be released from the ICU soon and transferred to the transplant unit, where he will continue recovery for several weeks before moving on to rehabilitation. Due to prolonged hospitalization and complications, Cason has lost significant muscle tone and will need to relearn how to walk and talk again.

Cason and Martha have poured their hearts into our community for years. Cason has been deeply involved in FFA, cooking for countless school banquets and events, hauling livestock for FFA kids year after year, and always stepping in wherever help was needed. He also volunteered countless hours coaching Lakewood Ranch baseball, giving his time and heart to our youth without ever expecting anything in return. Together, Cason and Martha have served our schools, our children, and our community selflessly.

Now, it is our turn to support one of our own.

Throughout this entire journey, Cason has been unable to work, and Martha has remained faithfully by his side day and night—advocating for him, supporting him, and focusing fully on his care and recovery. As you can imagine, this extended hospital stay has placed an enormous financial strain on their family. Mortgage payments, vehicle payments, household bills, and daily expenses continue, even while life has been put on hold.

This GoFundMe has been created to help ease that burden, allowing Cason and Martha to focus on what matters most: healing, recovery, and being together during this critical time.

We are standing firm on God’s promises and trusting Him every step of the way. Scripture reminds us:

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18

We believe God’s hand is on Cason, on the medical teams caring for him, and on every breath he takes. Even in the hardest moments, God is still working.

Please continue to lift Cason and Martha up in prayer—for healing, strength, peace, and provision. Thank you for every prayer, every share, every donation, and every act of kindness. Your love and support mean more than words can express.
