We are raising funds to support a loving mum, Carrie, and her daughter Connie as they face an incredibly difficult journey ahead.
Connie has been diagnosed with Chronic Granulomatous Disease (CGD), a rare and serious immune condition, and will soon travel to Great Ormond Street Hospital for intensive treatment including chemotherapy and a life-saving bone marrow transplant.
Before this begins, Connie will also undergo major procedures in London.
Carrie will need to stop working to remain by Connie’s side throughout treatment and recovery. As she is self-employed, there is no sick pay or financial safety net, and her ability to work has already been heavily impacted due to ongoing hospital stays, medical appointments, and caring responsibilities leading up to this point.
Carrie is also mum to 4-year-old twin girls who will remain at home in Northern Ireland during Connie’s treatment. Only one parent is able to stay with a child in hospital during this stage of treatment, meaning Carrie will be away from home for long periods while trying to continue supporting her twins from a distance and keep some normality in their lives during an incredibly difficult time.
We are asking for help to ease some of the financial pressure this family now faces.
Donations will help towards:
- Travel between Northern Ireland and London
- Living costs during long hospital stays
- Household bills and mortgage payments at home
- Childcare and support for Connie’s sisters while their mum is away
- Helping the girls stay connected as a family during treatment and recovery
Anyone who knows Carrie knows she would never usually ask for help, but right now she is facing circumstances no parent could ever prepare for.
Every donation, no matter how small, will make a real difference and help allow Carrie to focus fully on Connie’s treatment and recovery.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this page would mean so much.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and compassion xx
