Carolina Villalpando was visiting family in Mexico late last year when she received unexpected news: she had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. What was meant to be a joyful trip quickly turned into a series of doctor visits, tests, and ultimately surgery.
Carolina faced the situation with strength and determination, moving forward with the necessary procedures and paying for the first stage of treatment out of pocket. In total, she has already spent more than $10,000 on medical care so she could begin treatment right away.
After surgery, her doctors recommended an additional step—radioactive iodine therapy—to help ensure a full recovery and reduce the risk of the cancer returning. This treatment will be completed in Mexico, where Carolina has already been receiving care.
This fundraiser is to help Carolina cover the cost of this final stage of treatment so she can focus on healing and getting back to her normal life.
Any contribution, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page with others is greatly appreciated.
