I am Carol Lennon, I am quite active in a voluntary capacity and really enjoy assisting people with any difficulties that arise for them.

I have been an advocate in the Disability Community for the last 15 years and prior to that I was a founding member of Laytown Red Cross, helping young members of our community learn first aid skills and life skills that are adaptable and useful in their future.

I encourage everyone to do what they can to enrich their own lives and enhance the world around them.

I recently graduated as a Barrister and love my new role and the opportunities that this gives to me, both for my own personal growth and increasing my skills, allowing me to support others.

I tell people all the time that if an opportunity is presented to you, then its almost rude not to grab it with both hands, and this week I got challenged. I discussed the opportunity with the stakeholders in my life, and took all of their opinions on board.

I have accepted the opportunity to campaign for a seat in our local elections.

I am excited, nervous and also feeling a little emotional, as this was always a goal of mine and now I'm ready.

I shall be seeking support from one and all for my campaign as there's quite a bit to be done.
