Hi everyone, My name is Siany, and I’m a student at Jupiter High School. I’m starting this GoFundMe on behalf of someone who quietly does so much for our school every single day: our head custodian,

Carlos. Recently, I learned about a heartbreaking situation his family is facing in Jamaica. After the last major storm, the village where his daughter (24) and his two-year-old granddaughter live was completely devastated. Their home, along with the homes of all of Carlos’ aunts and uncles, was destroyed. The entire area has been left without power, and with the level of destruction, electricity will not be restored for a long time. Right now, simple necessities are becoming extremely difficult to find. Food is scarce, and when it is available, the prices are extremely high. Work has stopped because so many businesses no longer exist, leaving families with no way to earn income while trying to rebuild from nothing.

Carlos still comes to school every day with a positive attitude and a huge heart, even while carrying the weight of everything happening back home. Since it’s the season of giving, I wanted to do something meaningful to support him and his family during this incredibly difficult time.

All donations from this GoFundMe will be given directly to Carlos, and he will send the funds to his daughter so she can provide food, clean water, baby supplies, clothing, and other emergency needs for her family as they work to recover. Anything you can give, whether it’s a donation, a share, or even keeping this family in your thoughts, truly makes a difference. Together, we can show Carlos that his school community is here for him just like he has always been here for us.
