On July 27, 2026, a horrific traffic accident near Deep Creek Lake, MD, completely shattered the world of the Craft Family. We are heartbroken to share that Ray Craft, a devoted 33-year-old husband and father, was tragically killed in the crash. His sudden absence leaves a void that can't be filled. His wife, Cara Craft, survived the collision but sustained severe, life-altering injuries. She is currently hospitalized, has already undergone multiple surgeries to stabilize her, and faces a very difficult recovery. Cara requires ongoing surgeries, intense physical therapy, and medical care to survive and rebuild her life.

By an absolute miracle, their 2-year-old son, Anthony, survived the impact with only minor physical injuries. While he is physically safe and surrounded by family love and care, he now faces a future without his father and needs his mother to heal. With Ray gone and Cara unable to work due to her severe injuries, the family faces astronomical financial burdens. These include the costs of surgeries and medical bills, long-term rehabilitation for Cara, burial costs and related expenses for Ray, care for Anthony, and basic living expenses.

I am Cara’s uncle and started this fund to help the Craft family through this difficult journey following Ray’s death and Cara’s severe injuries.

All funds raised will be used to fund the Craft Family Grantor Trust and such funds will be used to help cover health care and rehabilitation costs for Cara, support and care for Anthony, funeral and burial costs for Ray, and day to day expenses while Cara can’t work and with the loss of Ray’s income to provide support for the family during and after Cara’s recovery.
