Hi, my name is Molly and I’m hoping to raise a little bit for my sister and my niece. Money is the last of her worry’s and I’ve done this off my own back for her to help her .. My neice had a tumour appear on her neck suddenly whilst she was in nursery that they found after her nap. After numerous hospital visits to find out what it was Callie was unfortunately diagnosed with cancer a day before she turned 10 months old . She has a Rhabdoid Tumour in her neck ( MRT) that has grown rapidly over the past couple of weeks. This form of cancer is very rare and an agressive type that doesn’t always respond well to treatment. She goes down for surgery in the morning (29/01) and then starts high dose chemotherapy on Thursday.. something that no one should ever have to go through never mind a 10 month old baby!

The place where the tumour is located makes it more difficult to be treated.. she had a 50/50 chance of coming home. If she doesn’t respond well to chemo unfortunately there is nothing else they can do. We are trying to stay postive and hoping for the best outcome chemo will be ongoing for 7 months but she will be in hospital for weeks on end at a time. Aswell as starting Radiotherapy aswell in 3 months time. My sister who is a single parent is trying to stay on top of things in the hospital aswell as trying to stay on top of things for her 2 year old son at home. Even if she only raises £20 to keep on top of expenses for a day whilst she was in hospital, travel expense as she doesn’t drive and has to rely on lifts and public transport as she does sometimes have to go home to see her other son who is so young he doesn’t understand himself what’s going on all he knows is his mum and sister are not home .. she’s trying to keep him at home and keep things as normal as possible for him instead of him staying in the accommodation Alderhey provide .. but I would love for her to be able to raise more so she could make the best memories she possibly could with both of her children. I’m hoping this also raises awareness because you do think it won’t happen to you or your family, if your a parent or even a family member/friend and have a gut instinct follow it !! What ever is raised is highly appreciated and I will personally donate out of my own money too, towards Cancer Research and Alderhey Hospital. No one knows what tomorrow is actually going to bring but we are going to stay as positive as we can and I want to help them in every way I can and at the moment I feel helpless as there’s not much you can say or do in these situations x
