Monday 9/8/2025 Calistas water broke at 28 weeks (there is some discrepancy amongst drs as to whether baby is 28 weeks as determined by her current OB or 29 weeks as determined by admitting facility) pregnant. She was sent to Evansville woman’s center to try and stall labor as long as possible. Unfortunately throughout Tuesday day and evening baby’s heart rate started decelerating and early this morning she suffered a partial placental abruption. Baby was delivered safely via emergency cesarean at 2 pounds 13” just before 5am. Calista is now facing a challenging physical and emotional recovery as well as multiple months nicu stay for baby while caring for their 2 year old son. Unfortunately Caleb is not in a position to take any time off work right now which means the extra expense of commuting back and forth from Evansville to Washington daily or near daily as well as covering the household bills on one income so Calista can remain present for both children. We are asking for donations for gas and any other travel related expenses that may arise. Any money left over will go towards baby as no one was prepared for her sudden arrival.
