Our Mission
At BVSD Survivors we center the stories of those who have experienced sexual violence and harassment within the district in the Boulder County, CO area. We opened this platform so that they can have a safe space to be empowered to break the narrative of silence that exists in Boulder Valley Schools District. In facilitating conversations with the community, we hope to raise awareness around the need for sexual violence prevention programs and their implementations district-wide. As we know that Sexual Violence is something that can happen to us all no matter who we are, BVSD Survivors is a safe place for all identities to share their stories. This issue is complex and layered among the many institutions that as survivors and their allies, oppress us. In creating this platform, sharing stories, and demanding comprehensive changes, we step towards dismantling the systems of oppression that allow for the negligence and mishandling of these issues district and community-wide.
