Burlington High School Performing Arts Needs Your Support!
There is nothing quite like stepping onto a stage and showing the world what you can do. Performing arts education fosters creativity, self-discipline and teamwork all while creating memories that will last a lifetime! Help us support the performing arts at Burlington High School, where your donation will help the Marching, Concert, and Jazz Bands as well as Orchestra, Chorus, Chamber Singers, Winter Percussion, Winter Guard and BHS Plays and Musicals at Burlington High School.
Many of the BHS performing arts programs have dramatically increased enrollment, with our marching band doubling in size and our winter percussion and winter guard growing at similar rates. With the addition of so many students our current budget cannot meet the needs of these programs and that is why your donation is so crucial. Your generosity can significantly impact our programs and help us provide an equitable experience for all of our performing arts groups.
The Burlington Performing Arts Parents Association (BPAPA) is a parent-volunteer run 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing performing arts education for all students. A successful school music program requires commitment from students, educators, parents and BPAPA, along with vital financial support from the community through fundraising and donations. This year our needs are greater than ever, and we aim to raise $40,000, which is why we have created this GoFundMe.
Your donation will go directly to funding current BHS students and ensuring they have everything they need to succeed.
Some examples of what your donation will support are:
*Uniforms/Costumes
*Color Guard Equipment
*New Instruments
*Student Enrichment Opportunities
*Audio Equipment
*Hardship Assistance
*New Equipment for growing programs
“The performing arts at BHS gave me the opportunities to grow as a singer, performer and ensemble member. It also brought me my best friends and favorite memories!” - Emerson Waisnor, BHS Alum ‘24
“The BHS music department is experiencing a large growth in its student population. Some of our groups are 4 times the size as last year. While this is incredible, it also comes with budget challenges to provide a meaningful, memorable, and equitable experience for all.
Last winter we were not able to compete with pride wearing a uniform like the rest of the ensembles, and did not have the equipment needed to provide an equitable educational experience. Your donation will be used for much needed uniforms, and equipment.
ALL high school students should be provided with opportunities that fit their interests that foster a sense of belonging and community, and provide an experience they deserve while creating memories that will last a lifetime. Your donation helps make this happen. Thank you for supporting the students of the BHS music department.” - Tim Ketterer, BHS Band Director
"The music department at BHS provides so many different opportunities to the students at Burlington. It's a place where students can engage in music-making and music creation in many different ways - traditional band, choral, marching band, and orchestral ensembles as well as classes in modern music production, film-scoring, and more. All of these different offerings require commitments of time, energy, staffing, and money to make sure they are all well-supported and well-run. We want to make sure we're offering the best opportunities to our students in a contemporary music education setting." - Beth Holmgren, BHS Chorus & Orchestra Director
Thank you from the BPAPA Board of Directors!
