Support Buddy's Battle with Pancreatic Cancer

Buddy. That's been my dad's nickname forever. He's never met a stranger, is constantly cracking jokes, and always treating everyone he meets like his family. He has always brought joy to everyone he meets.

Despite his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, he has continued to radiate joy. As a radiation therapist, he has worked with numerous cancer patients throughout the years and done his best to bring a smile to their faces. Being on the other side of the treatment table has been hard, but he's still continued to find a way to make others laugh. From wearing a "going through chemo and still this sexy" shirt while ringing his chemo completion bell to wearing an Elvis wig to surprise his surgeons during their 5 am rounds, he has found a way to bring happiness to others even in his most painful moments.

Despite undergoing chemo, his whipple procedure, and radiation, we just received news that there are METS in his liver. He will be undergoing more chemo, possible radiation, and more procedures. We don't have any further answers right now, but we are waiting for more information from his surgeon and oncologist about further planning.

My dad is never one to ask for help, which is why I decided to create this for him. At the minimum, all I ask is for prayer, support, and love while we grapple with the unknown. We appreciate all the food, visits, and messages that have already been sent our way. It's the little things that have made the biggest impact, and we want to say thank you. In all of this, we are so grateful for the love and support! The community that we have is unmatched, and we love each and every one of you.

Despite the pain and suffering my dad has endured, he continues to have hope and joy in his circumstance because of his deep faith and trust in God's plan and purpose. I'll leave you with this verse from my Dad's favorite book of the Bible. Romans 5:3-5, "Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us."
