Support Brittany, Seneca & Baby-on-the-Way After Tragic Loss

Dear family, friends, co-workers, and acquaintances,

It is with heavy hearts that we reach out to you on behalf of Brittany, who has recently experienced an unimaginable loss. On March 4th, her fiancé, Derek, passed away unexpectedly while on a business trip to his hometown of San Francisco. His sudden passing has not only left an immense emotional void but has also placed Brittany in the difficult position of being the sole provider for their 20-month-old daughter, Seneca, and their baby due in May.

Derek—fondly known as “The Legend of Leisure”—was a larger-than-life presence, the heart and soul of every room, and someone who built deep and lasting connections across the world. His love for life, travel, and family was unparalleled, and he was the most devoted father anyone could ask for.

Brittany and Derek’s love story was built on hard work, shared dreams, and an unbreakable bond. Together, they had recently purchased their first home, a place that was meant to be the foundation for their future. They were eagerly anticipating the birth of their second child and looking forward to their wedding, planned for August.

Derek’s family meant everything to him, and we know he would have done anything to ensure their well-being. Now, Brittany faces the overwhelming reality of raising two young children while also managing the demands of her full-time job—all without her partner by her side.

This is where we need your help. Our immediate goal is to raise at least $60,000 to help ease some of the short-term financial burdens that Brittany faces (the long-term need far outweighs this). These funds will provide critical support for:

• Medical care for the upcoming birth

• Childcare for both children

• Mortgage payments

• Funeral costs

• Other essential living expenses

Derek was not only a devoted partner and father, but he was also fortunate to be part of strong personal and professional communities.
