I escaped my abusers and found safety in England. Now, I am going back to ensure other children don't have to wait for a 'lucky escape.
Hi, I’m Myriam Mbeleg Baro.
For years, I served vulnerable children quietly. But as a survivor of childhood abuse myself, I know that "quiet help" isn't enough to break the cycle of silence. I am of Cameroonian heritage, and I have seen firsthand how children in Africa are being exploited—not because people don't care, but because they lack the safeguarding tools and mental health support to fight back.
I spent 18 months fighting through legal rejections to ensure this mission was official. Today, Childhood Happiness is a fully registered UK Charity (No. 1209020). We aren’t just a "good cause"—we are a regulated organization committed to transparency and systemic change.
What We Are Solving:
In many parts of Africa, a child who is raped or abused faces not just trauma, but a lack of specialized mental health care and a community that doesn't know how to protect them from it happening again.
Our 3-Pillar Solution:
1. Trauma-Informed Mental Health: Professional support for children to process trauma and regain their childhood.
2. Safeguarding Education: We don't just give food; we empower families and schools with the knowledge to identify and prevent abuse before it starts.
3. Emergency Crisis Relief: Immediate protection, hygiene, and education materials for children in active danger.
How Your Donation is Divided (£20,000 Goal):
• £10,000: Emergency Relief Fund – Immediate rescue and essentials for children in crisis.
• £4,000: Child Support Programmes – Specialist trauma counseling and school materials.
• £4,500: Logistics & Operations – Ensuring I can personally oversee work on the ground to guarantee every penny reaches a child.
• £1,500: Legal & Governance – Keeping our charity compliant and protected.
My Promise to You:
Trust is earned. We document our journey on TikTok (childhood_happiness_36) and Facebook, showing you the real faces of hope we encounter. We don't want to be "here today, gone tomorrow." We are building a self-sustaining system that will protect children for generations.
Will you stand with me?
Whether you donate £5 or £500, you are telling a child in Africa that they are seen, they are valued, and they are safe.
If you represent a foundation or wish to discuss our safeguarding framework in detail, please reach out to me directly. I am an open book.
Together, let's turn "survivors" into "thrivers.
