Briar Chapel is a great neighborhood, and to help keep it that way it is important that we follow rules we have set down for ourselves with how we communicate with each-other and run elections. It has become clear this will require outside help. (Richard) Ian Porter is listed here as organizer because GoFundMe requires a specific known person to be identified but there are many concerned neighbors involved as well.

Following an initial consultation with an Attorney from Ruby, Chase & Taliercio, PLLC, who provides legal counsel in HOA governance across North Carolina, preliminary guidance was offered confirming the procedural timelines and outlining plans for next steps. Based on her guidance we are moving forward to ensure the required meeting occurs in accordance with the bylaws. Her standard retainer is $2,000, billed at $350 per hour, though the initial scope of work may be limited and not require the full retainer amount..

Some have mentioned their concern about the potential added expense from our efforts. We believe this to be like an injury or illness, the sooner we pay to treat the issues the more affordable it will be. Ignoring these issues seems likely to only become more expensive and changeling to us all.
