Hello! I wanted to share an important cause with you. After Hurricane Melissa, Jamaica is facing immense challenges as families struggle to rebuild their lives. We’re raising money for Hurricane Melissa that recently hit almost my entire family down in Jamaica. I’m Barbara’s daughter & my mom recently visited for her high school reunion at Mount Alvernia and is now stuck there until further notice.

So now even when sorrow becomes us and tears fall, the spirit of Jamaica never fades. Our island is more than its shores and mountains, it lives in our unity, and our hope. From the joyful laughter of children running through the streets to now silence that seeps through a place we can not escape. Jamaica’s soul shines brightest in moments of hardship like this, and still we endure. We are a people shaped by struggle, & strengthened by diversity. Out of all of us, we are one.

The money will be going to rebuilding everything ruined in and outside our community such as clothes & food to people in need. Houses are gone & flooded out. Areas have no electricity, or water with barely anywhere to turn to for salvation. Every donation, no matter the size will make an immeasurable difference.
