Support Bree’s Fight – Help Her Beautiful Family Get to Melbourne for Treatment

On Christmas Eve 2024, 15-year-old Bree Scott received the devastating news that she had a mass on her brain. After months of worsening headaches and illness, her family had fought hard to get answers and finally, they had them. In early January, Bree was diagnosed with a prolactinoma, a tumor larger than expected and impacting multiple areas of her brain.

Treatment began with medication aimed at shrinking the tumor, but by April 2025, Bree underwent a complex seven-hour surgery to remove what could be safely taken out. The tumor was larger than scans had shown, with nerves embedded and stretched across it. Bree faced serious complications including weakness in her left arm, short-term memory issues, and temporary loss of vision in one eye.

Despite all of this, Bree showed remarkable resilience. She worked hard through recovery, regained movement, and returned to the activities she loves. Bree is passionate about netball, gymnastics, coaching, umpiring and cheerleading and even with ongoing treatment, she’s back coaching gymnastics, doing schoolwork in small bouts, and umpiring netball when she feels up to it.

Sadly, recent scans revealed the tumor has grown back, larger than before, and is once again affecting her eyesight and causing severe headaches. Surgery is no longer an option. Bree now needs radiotherapy and long-term medication, which will begin in Melbourne in the coming weeks.

Her family will be relocating temporarily for this next phase of treatment, with an initial stay of at least one month, though the full duration is unknown. This journey brings significant emotional and financial strain, including travel, accommodation and living costs while away from home.
