BRE Families, Friends & Community -

We are reaching out to you today to share that one of our BRE families has recently endured the heartbreaking loss of their mother. The family had relocated to the U.S. several years ago, moving closer to critical care, and have been living with extended family. Now, in this unimaginable time of grief, the father is left to navigate the difficult journey of raising their two young children, ranging in ages from 5 to 7 years old, on his own and starting over as a family of three. As many may know, the emotional and financial strain of losing a spouse is overwhelming.

In addition to their loss, the family is also facing the challenge of relocating to a new home in the coming months to create a fresh start. Over the years, Dad has managed a constant juggling act—working to secure new employment, caring for two young children, and supporting his terminally ill wife and partner of 18 years. However, things took a turn last week when he was admitted to the hospital with serious heart issues. His recovery in the coming months will limit his ability to work as many hours, making it difficult to secure extra funding towards the cost of housing.

We are working with our Bird Rock community to find a suitable housing option, but we know that as a community, we can do more. That's why we've decided to create this GoFundMe to help ease some of the burdens they are facing. The funds raised will go toward securing housing, cover essential living expenses, and making sure the children have a special first holiday season without their mother. One of his main priorities is ensuring that the children can remain at BRE, avoiding any further disruption in their lives during this challenging time.
