Hi I’m Brandy. I’m journeying to India in a couple weeks. I’m going to sit at the feet of the Divine Mother; to be immersed in the living traditions of the goddess.

It’s one of the few places left where devotion, ritual, and daily life still belong to each other. I want the direct experience of that.

This is not a retreat or a break from life. A pilgrimage is a response to a sacred call and a willingness to be reshaped by it.

We talk about this a lot in Body Temple… sometimes only one person from a village or community can make the journey, so they go and return carrying the blessing meant to be shared with all. They are celebrated as they leave and celebrated upon their return. The pilgrim wasn’t expected to do it alone.

The community helped make it possible.

Food. Resources. Money. Labor. Prayers. Intentions.

Because the journey itself belonged to the whole village.

That feels important to me.

This trip isn’t just mine. It’s something I’m walking with others in mind, and what I receive will be poured back into the spaces, people, and community I’m devoted to.

Sharing the practical reality of this journey—the travel, lodging, and the income I pause to be there—is my way of opening the circle.
