My cousin Brandy Synkiew has lived with Type 1 diabetes since she was 19, an autoimmune disease that requires constant, daily management.
More recently, she has been battling a systemic autoimmune inflammatory illness that is actively attacking her from the inside out. This is affecting her joints, muscles, nerves, and immune system. While this illness is real and ongoing- it has not yet received a final diagnosis!-which has made treatment difficult and exhausting. After MONTHS of searching... something was discovered. Answers? Finally? A biopsy confirmed invasive ductal carcinoma also known as... breast cancer.
The Big C.
Before all of this Brandy was a Registered Nurse who dedicated her life to caring for others. Nursing wasn’t just her job—it was who she was. She worked long hours, often putting her patients before herself, even while quietly managing her own health challenges. The same week she found out she had breast cancer? She lost her job—and with it?
Her health insurance.
Doctors have confirmed that her treatment plan includes aggressive chemotherapy and radiation followed by a mastectomy. This will be a long and grueling battle, both physically and emotionally. The reason we are creating this is to help her stay focused on what matters... HEALING! FIGHTING!
NOT trivial things like gas money and groceries.
More specifically we are raising funds to help cover:
-rent
-gas or other transportation like Uber/Lyft when needed
-groceries
-appointment costs
-medication
-diabetes supplies (insulin, testing supplies, needles, alcohol wipes, etc)
Every contribution, no matter the size, will help ease her burden and allow her to prioritize her health and recovery. We hope to rally support around her as she faces this difficult journey. Your support will help her maintain stability and peace of mind during a time when she needs it most.
Thank you for taking the time to read this GoFundMe. If you cannot donate at this time, please do share and encourage others to do the same. Your kindness and generosity will be poured back into you tenfold. Our family is deeply grateful for your support during this challenging time.
