Support Brandon's Eagle Scout Project to Benefit the VA
Donation protected
My name is Brandon and I am currently a Life scout with Troop 66 working towards getting my Eagle Scout. My Eagle Scout project involves assembling and installing at least two eco-friendly, recycled, and durable benches at the Veterans Affairs campus in Leavenworth, Kansas. I intend to place one bench along a path surrounding a lake that is accessible to the entire community, and at least one more bench directly outside the entrance to the VA hospital. My project aims to benefit the VA community since many people use the lake for various activities such as walking, fishing, or spending time with family and friends. Many nurses, employees, and resident veterans use this lake area as a place to take a break and enjoy the outdoors. However, there is only one bench near the lake, even though there are many empty concrete slabs meant for benches. I plan to install a bench on one of those concrete platforms to provide more resting areas for people who use the lake or walk the half-mile loop. The bench outside the VA hospital will benefit the community due to the fact that over a hundred people come in and out of the hospital every day, and having a nice area to sit and rest would be massively appreciated by the community.
