Hi, my name is Trevor. I’m a single father to a beautiful 5-year-old girl named Braelynn, who has been fighting since the day she was born.
At just 32 hours old, Braelynn began having tonic-clonic seizures, and our lives changed forever. Since then, nearly every part of her life has been shaped around her health. She was later diagnosed with chronic epilepsy and, more recently, heart failure.
August 2022, Braelynn was able to get a G-tube (feeding tube) surgically implanted to help deliver her medications and nutrition safely. That surgery became necessary because feeding and medicating her by mouth just wasn’t safe or reliable anymore. Every step of her journey has required courage—and she's met every moment with incredible strength.
In May 2025, Braelynn received a Vagus Nerve Stimulator (VNS) implant in her chest—a small device connected to the vagus nerve that sends gentle pulses to her brain to help prevent or shorten seizures. This device has been a huge step forward for her care. We also use a magnet, which we swipe across her chest every five minutes when she’s seizing, to try and stop the episode or lessen its severity. While it’s not a cure, it gives us one more way to fight for her comfort and safety during some of her most vulnerable moments. The VNS has tremendously helped.
Despite all she's been through, Braelynn is full of light and love. But because of her conditions, she can’t do many of the things other kids can. She’s on a strict ketogenic diet, which means trips to restaurants are off the table. Arcades overwhelm her, and movies are too difficult because she can’t sit still or stay quiet for long periods. Even going to the grocery store can be hard—she just wants to high-five everyone and make friends, not realizing the world doesn’t always understand her condition.
That’s why I’m reaching out. I’m trying to build a safe, home-based world where Braelynn can feel engaged, calm, and never left out. A place where she can still experience joy, comfort, and learning, even if the world outside is limited.
I’m raising funds to:
Create a supportive, sensory-friendly home space with safe furniture, calming tools, and interactive learning activities to help her feel less alone.
Get a reliable and safe vehicle to transport her to frequent medical appointments and emergencies without fear of breaking down.
Provide essential upgrades and equipment to help a keep safe envionment during her life learning stages.
It’s hard for me to ask for help. But this isn’t just for me—it’s for Braelynn. And any support you can give, even by sharing this, means more than I can say.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
With love and gratitude,
Thank you
Braelynn and Trevor
