Support Bradford & Adam's Cross-Country Family Reunification
Donation protected
In 2022, Bradford and Adam became foster parents in hopes that one day they would be able to adopt and become a forever home for a child who needed one. Since then, they have served as foster parents for four beautiful baby boys in Los Angeles. Each child ultimately ended up with family members, and each time, Bradford and Adam were heartbroken but remained hopeful that they would someday have a permanent addition to their family.
In March 2023, Bradford and Adam picked up J, their most recent foster son, from the hospital at just six days old. For the next 16 months, they relished the joy of parenting J. But like each time before, J was reunified with his mother in July 2024. Heartbroken again, Bradford and Adam had decided it was time for a fresh start and moved across the country to their new home in Lexington, Kentucky.
They arrived in Lexington on Wednesday, August 14. Less than 24 hours in their new apartment, they received a call from J's social worker that J was back in the system and needed them. They immediately booked a flight for Bradford to return to Los Angeles to take J back into his care.
While it is an unexpected joy to have J back, it is also an unexpected financial burden to support two households on one salary. Bradford and J are currently staying in a very sparsely furnished home in Los Angeles, while Adam is starting up his new job in Lexington and caring for their two pups. For the time being, J is not allowed to be taken outside of California.
The sudden transition in the midst of moving across the country and now living separately on opposite sides of the country has taken a toll on the family, both emotionally and financially, which is where you can come in.
Donations to this GoFundMe will help contribute to Bradford and Adam's monthly bills for two different residences (one in LA prices, off a Kentucky salary), flights for Adam to visit Bradford and J, and items for Bradford and J amidst their empty home. Thank you for considering contributing.
Note: We unfortunately cannot post pictures of J (foster system rule).
