AHA welcomes the Boston ICE Storm to Phillips Academy on March 8th!
Location: Phillips Academy Rink
Date: Saturday, March 8, 2025
Time: 2:10 PM – 4:30 PM
As part of the Andover Hockey Association's Community Service Initiative and our continued partnership with area organizations, AHA will host the Boston ICE Storm Sled Hockey Team at PA on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 2:10 PM.
Boston ICE Storm team director Jennifer Ford will be in attendance at the rink with several ICE Storm sled hockey players, and they will provide sleds and other equipment to teach our players how they play the game we all love in sleds. This will be an interactive event with the ICE Storm and AHA players participating!
By hosting this sled hockey program and participating in this event, we are encouraging our Bantam players to learn more about inclusion through adaptive sports like sled hockey and also demonstrating how these sports can include all participants while also taking in lessons from the Boston ICE Storm athletes as to how to persevere and never give up despite adversity and disability. Jen Ford's son Gavin (17 years old) is an ICE Storm player who was diagnosed with spina bifida and has relied on his upper body strength since he was 18 months old.
AHA has generously donated the 2 hours of ice time (2:10 PM - 4:30 PM) at PA for this event on Saturday, March 8th.
The Boston I.C.E. Storm team is fully funded by donations with 100% of proceeds going directly to the team. As such, we would encourage all Bantam players and families to consider making a donation to their program and ask that you please make a donation. Your generous donation will help the Boston I.C.E. Storm team with necessary expenses, including but not limited to equipment, sleds, uniforms, travel expenses, and ice rental fees. Feel free to also share this fundraiser link to help spread the word.
Thank you all for your support!
