Support Bob Gaffney's Recovery Journey

I am Kelly Lasher, the daughter of Bob Gaffney (speaking on behalf of all the family), who suffered a massive stroke on the morning of Wednesday, April 9th in Panama City Beach while traveling with my mother, far from their permanent residence in CNY.

Bob was rushed via ambulance to the emergency room, during which time became unresponsive and was intubated and later transferred to the ICU. MRIs and CTs revealed a very large stroke that had resulted from a 70% blockage of the carotid artery, with other clots still within the brain.

By some miracle and the power of prayer, and with family by his side (myself, sons Sean & Ryan, "Auntie," and my mom), he became responsive and was able to be extubated. Hopsital staff repeated (and even teared up) that this was nothing shy of a real miracle. Keep the prayers coming!

My dad was able to leave the ICU but has a very long road ahead of him to regain balance, full vision, and pieces of his memory. He will begin a new journey with an intensive rehab protocol, which will be followed by a TCAR procedure by a vascular surgeon to clear the blockage.

If you can help in any way, big or small, your support will assist my mom during this time as their stay has been significantly extended, with many unknowns right now. Funds will be used as needed towards medical and travel costs, housing, storing of their boat, etc. As my mom says, "retirement isn't all it's cracked up to be."
