Support Blake's Fight Against Cancer

Hi everyone! My name is Amanda, as some of you know, my little brother Blake Newton has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at only 26 years old. So many wonderful and caring people have asked our family what they can do to help, so we decided to set this Go Fund Me up to help cover medical bills, treatment costs, in-home care, diet restrictions and other expenses that arise during this difficult time.

For everyone that doesn’t know, in August, Blake & his girlfriend Holly Kruckenberg, moved into their first home together! Shortly after, they went into the ER for Blake having some abdominal pain. The ER doctor immediately diagnosed Blake with cancerous tumor, and Blake spent three days in the hospital, where Holly never left his side. During this stay, another doctor diagnosed Blake with a pancreatic cyst rather than a tumor, and Blake was sent home.

At his out-patient checkup in November, it was discovered that Blake has BOTH a tumor AND a cyst in his pancreas. He has a Neuroendocrine tumor tucked between his pancreas and liver.

2025 will be a hard year for Blake & Holly... Blake will have surgery called a Whipple Procedure on January 9th to remove the tumor, the cystic part of his pancreas, his gall bladder, and part of his intestines. Blake will remain in the hospital for about a week after. Recovery will be a long and difficult process; Blake won’t be back to work for several months, and will need to be cared for at home during that time. While he is taking a break from school and recovering at home, Holly will be finishing her last semester of law school and working full time for the both of them. Blake is expected to be back on his feet around May, which is the same time Holly will take off work to study for the Bar Exam in July.

On the bright side, Blake has an excellent doctor who has instilled so much confidence in us and the success of surgery! We are choosing to look at this as a blessing that we found it now instead of later on.

Between their regular bills, in-home care for Blake’s recovery, and the daunting debt of hospital bills, they will be taking on additional financial stress. We want to help alleviate that stress while they are navigating Blake’s healing journey.
