Most people know Björn Böttcher serving some of the most delicious baked good as the pastry chef at Der Pioneer in Brooklyn. He immigrated from Germany bringing his skill for making amazing pastries and has raised a beautiful family in Brooklyn.

Recently as many of us were preparing to celebrate Thanksgiving with our friends or loved ones, Björn and his family received some awful news. His always positive and seemingly healthy eldest son was rushed to the emergency room with difficulty breathing and later diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a cancer that affects the immune system.

The cancer is treatable, but will require costly rounds of chemotherapy and radiation. After everything that Björn has contributed to our community, we're hoping that we can all come together to support him and his family through this tough time.
