Doula Support for NY Hispanic Communities
Donation protected

Sadly, statistics support Maria’s concerns. In New York City, maternal mortality among Hispanic women is three times higher than among white women*. Mistreatment during childbirth is pervasive, especially for individuals who don’t speak English and/or are BIPOC. Laboring people from these communities are ignored, patronized, and routinely denied the autonomy to make medical decisions about their bodies and their babies.
As birth workers, we at Doulas en Español want to put an end to this mistreatment.
By contributing to this campaign, you will be directly supporting our efforts to provide no-cost birth doula services to Hispanic communities in need.
Doulas En Español is an NYC-based collective of birth workers that was formed to increase the representation of Spanish-speaking doulas and broaden the offering of birth services for Hispanic communities in our area. We offer prenatal, birth, and postpartum support in Spanish and with cultural affinity to our community.
We are grateful for your support. Together we can make a difference.
