Thank you for reading this fundraiser. I'm Jill Napier, Lynn Beth Stone's sister. Beth has recently been diagnosed with end-stage renal failure, and her condition has deteriorated rapidly. A few weeks ago, she became critically ill and had to be rushed to the ER. Her nephrologist delivered a sobering prognosis: she needed a port implanted in her chest immediately to begin dialysis, or it would be time to call in hospice care.

She is now undergoing dialysis three times a week, each session lasting 4 to 5 hours. She is unable to work and is facing extreme financial stress on top of the physical toll this illness is taking. Even the simplest daily tasks—bathing, dressing, preparing meals—are now impossible for her to manage alone. I take her to every dialysis appointment, cook her dinners, and care for her in every way I can. And, I'm trying my best financially to help her, but I work in higher education and I don't make a lot of money.

What makes this even more heartbreaking is back in January 2024, she suffered a stroke and I asked her if she'd like me to implement a GoFundMe account for her so she could take time off and recover. However, at the time, she felt others were more in need than she was and chose not to pursue the support. Now, she is the one who desperately needs help.

As she approaches her 60th birthday on March 19th, she is facing some of the hardest days of her life. We are doing everything we can, but we simply cannot carry this burden alone. We humbly and urgently ask for your support—financial and emotional. She has not been able to work since she became very sick, and her bills are piling up. We have filed for disability benefits, but as many know, the government takes their sweet time with their decision.

Beth has always been selfless and strong, but today, she needs the kindness and compassion of others. Any help would make a world of difference in her fight for comfort, dignity, and hope.
