On July 12, my cousin Bertie was taken by ICE and held in Alligator Alcatraz, where he endured extremely harsh conditions. There was limited contact and now months after this difficult ordeal, he is now preparing to leave for Belize.

While this brings some relief, it also creates a whole new challenge for his family. Bertie’s wife is pregnant and due next month, and together they are raising their children who deeply miss their father. The stress of this transition combined with the emotional and financial strain has been overwhelming for his wife, the kids, and their loved ones.

We are raising funds to help cover:

• Support for his wife, children, and soon-to-arrive baby
