Hello all. My name is Heather. I am a sister-in-law to Derek and Melissa and an aunt to Benny! A little of the backstory for those that don’t know Benny was born July 27, 2024 at 23 weeks, weighing 1 lbs. 5 oz. Which followed by a long NICU journey as you can imagine. With many ups and downs and multiple surgeries at his stay at Vanderbilt hospital in Nashville, TN.

In February he was transported to Cincinnati, Ohio to the Children’s Hospital for the Nero care he needed. This causing many miles between their little family. Derek has traveled back and forth weekly to see his wife and son. From Nashville to Cincinnati all while, working & trying to make the house renovations that are needed to bring Benny home and all other upkeep. He found mold under the floors when fixing up Bennys room. He now needs to replace sub floors throughout the house and few other things as baby is coming home on oxygen. Benny is doing great and there is talk he maybe coming home soon, even as early as this weekend. So this is why I started the go fund me page. To try and help and let others help where we can! We all know home renovations don’t come easy or cheap or fast. On top of that Benny will most likely be coming home to an air b n b until his home is finished. So let’s help this little family by lifting some of the financial stress of the home renovations and cost of the air b n b. Thank you so much for your help.
