Hi everyone from GoFundMe, my name is Marizol and my husband's name is Benjamin. We have 3 little girls and we live in Bakersfield, California. With heavy hearts, we reach out to you in a time of unimaginable pain. Recently, my husband was deported to El Salvador. That's where my husband is from, but he has lived here in California for almost 15 years. We have been married for 10 years and we have 3 beautiful girls: a 6-year-old, a 4-year-old, and a 2-year-old who miss their dad very much.
My husband is a good person and a great father. He has no criminal record here or in El Salvador. He is a hardworking man who has always done the right thing for his family. He has followed the law by getting his driver's license, paying taxes, and attending all his immigration appointments.
When he was deported, I was left alone with our 3 girls and bills, credit debt, attorney debt, and it's been really hard on me emotionally, physically, and financially. It's been really hard on our girls too. They are too young to understand what happened to their dad and why he can't come home right now. My heart aches for them because every day they ask, "When is daddy coming home? We miss him a lot." Now they ask with tears in their eyes, and it just breaks my heart seeing them like that. But one day he will come home, in Jesus' name we pray.
It all started with a phone call from immigration that he needed to go to the immigration office the following day early in the morning when his next check-in appointment was a month away. When he arrived, he was handcuffed like he was a very dangerous criminal and taken to a detention center. He was in 4 different detention centers in 1 month before he was finally deported, and I wasn't able to do anything because they wouldn't let him meet with the attorney. When he finally did, it was too late to help him. In that month, he was malnourished and had very little sleep or no sleep. A few days before he was deported, he started to feel sick, and they didn't want to take him to a doctor until a day before his deportation. He started to feel very bad with a high fever and a very bad cough. They took him to the doctor, and all he gave him was Tylenol. When he arrived in El Salvador, he started taking antibiotics and ibuprofen. If it wasn't for that, who knows if he would be alive. It took him over a month to get better, and I prayed to God every day to watch over him and to get better soon. We pray every day so he can come back home to us, like my daughter says, so we can be a whole family again. No one deserves to endure this pain, especially when there are small children involved. It's just horrible what is happening to all the families everywhere. All we can do is pray for everyone to be safe.
We are asking for your generosity to help us pay for legal expenses, settle debt, and to be able to go see him.
If you're unable to donate, please share. Every prayer, every share, and every act of kindness makes a difference. God bless you all and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
